Where It All Began
The Whutever it Takes DJ Academy was founded by Cornell Yarbrough (DJ Whutever) in 2015 as an innovative education program that partners with community schools and organizations to create a high quality after-school learning experience for inner-city youth, and students grades 4-12.
The DJ Academy's after-school program purposefully pushes the integration of literacy and science, technology engineering & mathematics (STEM) into creative content that exposes students to a unique form of learning music, communication, and improvisation that can lead to several professions in the future.
OUR GOALS ARE TO:
Make the after-school learning experience fun and engaging. Create environments that support social and emotional learning.
Provide exceptional quality of information and instruction.
Increase the academic participation and achievement of the student's learning experience
.Provide strategies for communication techniques that works in a professional, personal or educational setting. A unique focus is made on listening and non-verbal communication as they are needed to become an exceptional DJ.
ABOUT DJ WHUTEVER
DJ Whutever is a Bronx NY native who has become a household name. He’s been the official DJ for iHeartMedia’s Z100 Jingle Ball and Consumer Electronics Show (CES), iHeart Music festival & pool party, MTV's Spring Break in Las Vegas as well as many other nationally branded events. You can find him hosting his on-air weekly show on New York's Power 105.1, Boston’s Jam’n 94.5 and spinning at some of the biggest parties & festivals around the globe. Not a rookie, DJ Whutever has been seen and heard on MTV, VH1, Fox 5's Good day New York, Music Choice and SiriusXM. Also an advocate for higher education and a Hofstra University Alum, Whutever tours campuses nationwide hitting the turntables and doing speaking engagements for students. Whether he is DJ’ing at corporate events, universities, On -Air hosting, or skillfully entertaining the club and party scene with others; Whutever brings energy, personality, and music that ignites all crowds.
